Mindful Movement Moments
30-minute Conversations | Mindful Movement Moments are a half-hour conversation circle for movers to gather and converse on the topic of the week. Here, coaches, instructors, and trainers get a brief window to converse. How do we bring our mindfulness into motion? External and Internal Observations
Monday, April 14, 2025
4:30 pm Hawaii Time
Our health is our OWN personal responsibility. Have you noticed yourself relying too heavily on external motivators or observations, such as the number on the scale for weight loss, or the mirror for body image, the amount of weight you can lift, comparing your stretchiness to others in a yoga class? Using these external observations to manage and motivate our personal health doesn't work for everybody, every body type or every personality.
Have you noticed what happens to your stomach after drinking a certain kind of coffee in the morning? Or your heartburn when eating food too late at night? Are you noticing different places in your body complaining when you sit too long? Where?
And what are you doing with these internal signals? While external observations can motivate some of us some of the time, let’s consider how our internal observations could more mindfully help us to make changes.
Join us for a conversation on the hows and whys of paying attention to Internal Observations of our bodies.
Two-Way Dialogues with our Bodies
Monday, April 21, 2025
4:30 pm Hawaii Time
Our bodies are always speaking to us. Are we responding to the signals the body is sending us?
Our bodies are always listening to us. What are we saying about our bodies? “I’m really, really sick.” “My hip is never going to get better.” “I always slump my shoulders.” What is your body hearing about itself? Are our words encouraging, understanding, positive?
How could we improve the way we speak about and perhaps even TO our bodies?
What benefits could we gain from engaging in a mindful two-way dialogue with our body?
Join us for a conversation on how to get this two-way dialogue started!
Listening for the Ahhh…That Feels Good!
Monday, April 28, 2025
4:30 pm Hawaii Time
Once we learn how to communicate with our bodies, we can help train ourselves to modify our movement and body habits for ourselves. We spend so much time attending to the pain and discomfort we sense, but perhaps feeling helpless to avoid or stop the hurting.
Can you imagine being mindful of the movement that feels good in your body to shift out of unhealthy movement moments or habits?
Join us for a conversation on discovering the ‘Ahh… that feels good!’ in our exercise practices and beyond, into our daily movement.
